10 000 Falcons
are harvested
each year

The team of falcoproject.eu after 10 years of unsuccessful search in Africa disentangled the world’s biggest raptor roost site in ANGOLA.

The number of birds might be up to 1M in a single roost site, and this incredibly high concentration makes the species very vulnarable to threats. Scientist proved the harvest of the falcons for food.

First survey by our local partner Orbis Angola found falcons on the local bushmeat market that suggests regular harvest.

There is an urgent need to initiate a COMMUNITY BASED CONSERVATION program.
